Mass Timber Buildings

Mass Timber Buildings: Text

1 Lonsdale Avenue

1 Lonsdale Avenue is a 3-storey passive house building in North Vancouver with a restaurant on the ground floor and offices on Levels 2 and 3.

The project was permitted and constructed prior to mass timber being adopted into the BCBC. Alternative solutions were needed to permit the use of mass timber for floor assemblies and for the exterior wall along the property line.

It utilized CLT for floors and one exterior wall, supported by glulam beams and columns.

While working at LMDG, Mark was the project coordinator. He consulted on the building code and performed field reviews of alternative solutions.
